ONLY GOD CAN BUFF ME: INTERVIEW WITH ALEHSY LAMBO
Alehsy Lambo - graffiti-artist/tattooer from Barcelona who is painting cars in the best traditions of NFS restyling. Doors of his lambos are always directed straight upwards to the sky, bodies of his cars are shining like diamonds, tires are blazing and the police cars are always burning to the ground. The angular artworks of Lambo, like cars from "pimp my ride" , squeezes the maximum out of transport culture: he founds place for the bland friendly Bibendum from Michelin, and even Autobots-transformers... The artist confidently transfers his recognizable style from the walls to the skin, periodically playing with images from his favorite American and Japanese cartoons.

We decided to talk with Lambo about Lamborghini which is forever printed in his memory, about first burner on a train, about crazy school years, about Barcelona now days and about his last trip memories "Relax boy this is the Balkans!".

— We heard that you love cars and some car toys since childhood. Tell us more about that?
— I remember when i was 8 years and i saw Lamborghini Countach opening the doors upwards to the sky and i really fell in love with that, also my father was really fond of motorcycles as well and i knew every single model by the time i was 10.
— What things from childhood and teenage years also was the inspiration of what you doing now?
— The fact of doing ignorant graffiti was inside me from when i saw the first pieces from the old movies of New York in the 80's.
— What did you think when you saw the very first graffiti? How it was?
— When i see the trains rolling with burners i get so impressed and by this time i was 16 and super crazy that i went alone to the yard and paint my first one with no fucks. I wouldn't do it now hahah.
— What made you pick up a can and start drawing? How did you start your graffiti way?
— I remember i was in the bathroom of the school and i saw the bad boys tagging everywhere and i wanted to do the same.
— Tell us about the Barcelona underground scene in those years. Graffiti, music, culture... Things that most memorable for you.
— By the time i start i was living in Sevilla and I remember a super nice scene full of people doing great, I met really nice people out there.
— At this time Barcelona is one of the main city for antistyle. What do you think, why?
— I think because it's a multicultural city full of people from everywhere and this mix is the reason why you see crazy style here, also the mentality here it's to have fun painting and give no fucks.
— At this time, what things are imporant to you when you do graffiti?
— To don't get caught.
— Why you also started tattoing? "Who bombs tatts too?". How you learn the tattooing?
— I start tattooing 5 years ago because most of my old friends at this time were tattooers and i wanted to be my own boss, hating and tired to work on some other shit, but i really learn by myself trying on some friends legs, I still learning and never will stop to.
— Share us about your view and philosophy about tattooing. What tattoo means for you?
— For me tattooing is to make something different and original with a bit of funny, doesn't matter if it's well done or not.
— Could you share us some funny and memorable moments with customers and funny tattoo sessions?
— Remember when i was in Warsaw on a friday night super crazy party and i met most of my customers for the next day and when they came with no sleep and on drugs to get tattooed, it was really funny and hard at the same time, but most of the people who get my stuff ain't normal people but i love to meet crazy people everywhere.
— You often travels. What motivate you to visit new countries?
— I really like to meet the different culture of the people, when you travel you also get something from them, and that makes you a human made from a bit of everywhere you go, totally different and unique.
— Share some memories from last trips?
— Last trip i did was The balkans, full of very humble people, never met people like this, one morning we were crossing a bridge in the middle of bosnia and we felt an earthquake, i turned back and i saw an old man laughing and talking some shit that i felt it was something like "hahaha relax boy this is the Balkans!".
— What things you like and don't like in modern graffiti worldwide scene. And why?
— I like the fact that everyone follows a style but i hate it.
