We had tried to create the metal frame that becomes flat and thin when the temples are folded. Before I started to create «‎Lot.028», the first idea was to use forked bridge and flat lenses. The flat lenses are out of trend and no one needed them for a long time. But the boom has come around the world when we launched model «‎Lot.1080».
The fact that we use flat lenses was well known among many eyewear designers.
But it didn't get any feedback from business people, buyers, customers in the eyewear industry. Time has passed, I have recreated a metal frame with flat lenses as «Lot.028».
The combination between Metal feeling of full titanium and flat lenses works very well and it becomes a mysterious design. It's confidence design for me personally.
This is the model that I have challenged for high balance between plastic and metal.
«‎LITMUS» and «‎9T» are created with the same concept. After I finished the design of model «9T», I wanted to design the combination frame more standard than «‎9T».
That is «‎LITMUS». When I finished designing this, I felt it's too standard for me but the real product has a great presence. It's because of our craftsmen's work. They manufactured «‎LITMUS» with edgy cutting like «‎9T». As a result, «‎LITMUS» became a hit model.
There are lots of styles called standard in the world like Panto, Wellington, Round. We have challenged to create a new standard.
«‎MERCURY» is the model as irregular polygonal shape. But this is our own standard model which is favored by women. Actually I didn't imagine that this shape could be so popular.
Also when I design the model with 5 mm thickness like this, some of our fans feels unsatisfactory. But it is the model that didn't have such a response strangely.
The success of this model gave a creation of combination frame named «‎GOROUND», which has won many award.
I always try to create our frame with an organic and lifelike design.
But sometime, to be honest about my emotion of creativity, my design will be far away from general popularity like model «‎MARS».
Also «‎PROTON» was created by emotion from deep inside of my mind without subtraction and became a design people never seen before. Of course this design makes me satisfy. At the same time I thought it's difficult for sales to the market anyway. But the market accept this model.
I have created model «‎FOUNDATION», but I have felt that I still have the possibility to add more design. I always felt my approach is not enough to the big design theme of «‎FOUDATION». Therefore I have decided to use 8 mm thickness acetate to bring out multi-faced design at the brand's first attempt.
Also I adopted the double ring structure that made me feel the potential of model «‎BAYRON». It's better than trying a simple 8 mm frame. I believe I could express GROOVER's unique world that can't be seen with other eyewear design.
THRASH
I wanted to create square frame with narrow nose and wide lenses shape simply.
I have tried to add the design essence of Japanese superhero like the Power Ranger or Ultra man. I mean it's interpreting the image like Clark Kent in a Japanese way.
In fact, when I finished this production, it was more like a woman hung it.
GROOVER's design doesn't make it a simple, but makes it look a little like a cat shape.
